Recommendations
Storage:
Start stacking on a firm, flat surface.
The first drum shall be placed with the mouth downwards, the other drums shall be placed with the back and the mouth with the mouth.
One should never place a drum inside the other.
Handling :
Be very careful in handling and transporting the drums, avoiding shocks because this can damage the products.
Assembly:
The drum should fit perfectly in the bucket, without using mallets, levers, presses, or any other method of this nature that forces the adjustment.
If the tarpaulin adheres to the drum during the adjustment, overheating will occur during the execution, cracking the drum, which will shorten the service life and continue using the tarpaulins uselessly.
Use:
Avoid entering foreign bodies between the tarp and the brake drum by checking the conditions of the dust stopper.
Check and regulate the brake clearance, observing its uniformity in the brake setting.
On long or steep descents, do not keep the brake on continuously, use engine brake, or other types of features (Retarder).
When parking, with the brake drums hot, do not leave the auxiliary brake (manikin) actuated, because when the drum is cooled and when it finds resistance offered by the shoe / trim assembly, it will suffer geometry changes and / or rupture.
Do not cool the drums with water.
Maintain the brake setting according to the manufacturer’s orientation.
Avoid sudden braking, mainly delivery vehicles, city buses, etc.
Check the fabric wear preventing the rivets from coming into contact with the working region of the brake drum by damaging it.
