TRADITION & INNOVATION
In the Metal Castings since 1960, Tomé S/A is know as one of the largest cast iron foundries in Brazil. Located in the industrial city of Caxias do Sul (RS) – southern region of the country, Tomé’s manufacturing facility is comprised of two Productions Units: Unit 1 is dedicated to producing grey iron castings, while Unit 2 is dedicated to producing ductile iron and steel castings. The total installed production capacity is about 5.000 ton/month of finished products to market segments as Automotive, Agricultural, Civil Construction, Industrial and Railway Equipments.
WHAT WE OFFER
MOLDING AND PRODUCTION
In addition to productivity, Cold Box Blowers produce molds that offer greater stability and rigidity, thus generating excellent dimensional consistency, castings without metallurgical defects, allowing the production of complex parts with high quality standards.
PREPARATION SYSTEM
Four continuous sand mixers with a capacity of 5 tons / hour, one for each blower. Each mixer independently supports the demand of each blower through automatic controls. This system controls the dosage for both types of sand used (recycled and new), as well as high precision electromagnetic pumps for adding resin.
LEAKAGE SYSTEM
The system is fully automated and controlled by a PLC. The distribution, entry and exit, of the cars on the different lines, is operated by four electric carts, and by a hydraulic system that pushes and brakes the cars. The availability of five lines for cooling the molds allows for better flexibility, preventing any unforeseen circumstances resulting from mold release at undesirable temperatures.
SAND DEMOLDING AND RECYCLING
The system is fully automated and controlled by a PLC. The distribution, entry and exit of the trolleys on the different lines is operated by four electric trolleys and a hydraulic system that pushes and brakes the trolleys. The availability of five lines for cooling the molds, allows a better flexibility to program the change of each type of produced part, as well as the type of metallic alloy, preventing any unforeseen resulting from demoulding at undesirable temperatures.
TECHNICAL TREATMENT
According to customer specifications. Standardization – A 6,000 kg capacity oven, controlled by modern instruments. Furnace graphics can be provided to satisfy the heat treatment documentation requirements. Quenching, Tempering, Annealing and other treatments are carried out by external suppliers duly qualified by Tomé and / or our Customers.
